The earliest version of the Bozo character phonographs features a 5.75" x 3.75" semi-transparent Bozo front plaque (color reverse litho on raised celluloid-like plastic). The plaque reads BOZO 'THE CAPITOL CLOWN' and includes the Capitol Records logo. The semi-transparent plaque lights up from behind when the power switch is turned on.

BOZO's Talking Book Story played by a FINGER-POWERED PHONOGRAPH

Bozo and His ABC Zoo, Dial a Story, Sonic Educational Products, 1982 (FP0537)

 

Sonic Education Products issued more than a dozen Dial a Story "talking books" in 1966 which were records played on a finger-powered phonograph. Titles included Mother Goose Favorites, The Little Red Hen, Little Red Riding Hood, The Night Before Christmas, Tommy and His Drum, Sylvester, the Little Duck Who Lost His Quack, and others.
